fireworks in creative resistance
Ad Black Sea 2025
Do you know how fireworks work? First, a small spark ignites the powder inside, generating gas and building up internal pressure. Resistance mounts, tension grows - and boom! It explodes.
That’s exactly what happens in the creative industry, too. In times of crisis, tension can build up - and sometimes, that pressure transforms into a spectacular burst of creativity.
Resistance has never felt more relevant. Fireworks, too, have become a symbol of defiance - and this year, Ad Black Sea 2025 embraces that energy. The festival’s concept, “FireWorks in Creative Resistance,” perfectly echoes the spirit of the times.
minds&marketing will be at Ad Black Sea from September 11 to 13 to experience the festival first-hand - listening, observing, and discovering the industry’s biggest ideas and boldest statements. We’ll bring you insights straight from the ground: speaker highlights, brand activations, behind-the-scenes moments, and real-time updates on our digital platforms.
And once the festival wraps up? Expect our in-depth coverage and editorial recaps of what really mattered this year.
But first, let us tell you why Ad Black Sea 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most important editions yet.
Ad Black Sea 2025: where creativity meets conversation
For years, Ad Black Sea has been the region’s flagship event for the creative industry - a place where people come together to share knowledge, spark collaborations, and plant the seeds of big ideas.
This year is no exception. Expect three days packed with sessions, panels, workshops, and discussions designed to inspire and challenge:
- 1,400+ delegates from Georgia and across the globe
- 20+ countries represented, 28 jury members, and dozens of speakers - from industry leaders and award-winning creative directors to visionary designers and photographers
- 13 award categories covering branding, design, sustainability, digital communication, and more
- Plus, the Young Creative Award - launched in partnership with TBC - returns for the third year, spotlighting the next generation of creative talent.
But Ad Black Sea is more than just a festival. It’s a platform - one that puts the region firmly on the global creative map. Winning at Ad Black Sea today means gaining access to ADCE (Art Directors Club of Europe) and recognition within The One Club’s global rankings.
introducing the CREATORS STAGE — for the first time ever
Ad Black Sea 2025 comes with a major first: the launch of the Creators Stage - a dedicated platform for creators and influencer marketing.
At minds&marketing, we’ve been covering influencer marketing closely, and it’s clear this field is becoming a critical part of modern brand strategies. The new stage will open up space for honest conversations between brands and creators - a move we see as both timely and necessary.

festival partners: fueling creativity
Once again, Ad Black Sea is backed by brands that believe in the power of creativity and its impact on industry growth.
At the forefront is TBC, the festival’s main partner, whose long-standing support enables the sharing of international expertise and creates new opportunities for Georgia’s creative ecosystem.
Other partners include MINI Georgia, Bakuriani, Karva, D Block, Nikora, Metable, Extra, UN Women, PSP x Mizon, Smartsoft, Setanta Sports, ROOMS Hotels, Industria, Georgian Sun, Windfor’s Workshops, Tbilisi School of Communications, Monkey Shoulder, Scrollex, Lumen, and many more.
Many of these brands are preparing special activations for festival guests - from interactive booths and giveaways to experiential games. We’ll be exploring all of them and sharing the most interesting highlights.
And remember: at any festival like this, a brand’s mission isn’t just to be seen - it’s to be remembered. Let’s see who leaves a lasting impression this year.
FireWorks in creative resistance - the concept behind the festival
This year’s Ad Black Sea concept - “FireWorks in Creative Resistance” - as we mentioned earlier, carries a powerful message.
The second part of the theme - “in Creative Resistance” — was originally developed by the Ad Black Sea team for the Tbilisi Design Festival back in May, where they also launched a poster design competition around this idea.
The submitted works were judged by none other than Paula Scher, one of the most influential figures in contemporary graphic design. These posters will be showcased at the festival - and we can’t wait to see them.
So why “FireWorks”?
Because fireworks symbolize the creative process itself:
“Creativity faces many ‘enemies’ nowadays - burnout, injustice, mental and physical health challenges, political and social pressures. But keeping that spark alive - the one that fuels creative energy - is vital. That’s the heart of this year’s concept.” - Tamar Tsintsadze, Executive Director, Ad Black Sea
a final thought
In recent years, the events unfolding in the country have made it clear just how profoundly the political and economic landscape impacts the creative industry.
They have also revealed the power of creativity in standing up against propaganda and shaping alternative narratives.
This year, more than ever, Ad Black Sea is more than just a festival. It’s a voice. A declaration. A statement from the industry itself:
FireWorks in Creative Resistance.
And tell us — who’s afraid of a little fireworks?
